FEA Maldives Career Talk 2026

FEA Maldives Career Talk 2026 Concludes with a Full House

FEA Academy Maldives successfully concluded the FEA Maldives Career Talk 2026, welcoming a full house of 60 participants at Waters Edge, Hulhumalé for an evening dedicated to meaningful conversations around the personal training and fitness industry.

The event was created as a platform to bring together fitness professionals, gym owners, educators, industry leaders and fitness consumers to explore where the industry stands today, both globally and within the Maldives, while encouraging conversations around professional development, education, standards, client expectations and the future of personal training.

Bringing Global Insights to the Maldives

A special thank you goes to Jerrican Tan, Founder of FEA and FEA Academy, who joined us as Keynote Speaker and Industry Moderator.

Through his session, “Getting to Know the Global Personal Training Industry,” Jerrican brought a wider international perspective to the conversation, exploring the development of the personal training profession, education and certification pathways, professional competency and the standards shaping the industry globally.

The conversation was then brought closer to home through the panel discussion, “A Closer Look at the Personal Training Industry in the Maldives.”

Voices from the Maldivian Fitness Industry

The panel brought together professionals representing different areas and generations of the local industry:

  • Hamid Abdul Ghafoor, Founder of Malé Fitness Club and Malé Fitness Academy, contributed his extensive experience and perspective on the development of fitness education, professional standards and the evolution of the industry in the Maldives.

  • Hussain Zinan, Sport Scientist and Founder of TEMPO, brought perspectives around sport science, evidence-based practice, athlete assessment and the importance of strengthening professional standards.

  • Mariyam Maneeha (Trainer Pittu), Founder of Grittin Fit, shared perspectives from gym ownership, fitness education, personal training and the development of opportunities for women within the industry.

  • Shinaz brought the perspective of a working personal trainer, contributing to conversations around real-world coaching, client needs and the realities faced by trainers delivering personal training services in the Maldives.

  • Madadha, TV Presenter and fitness consumer, added an important client perspective, allowing the discussion to consider the industry not only from the professionals providing the service, but also from the people experiencing personal training as clients.

Together, these different perspectives allowed the conversation to connect global industry insights with the realities, challenges and opportunities within the Maldives.

A Conversation We Hope to Take Further

The overwhelming response to the Career Talk, with all 60 available places filled, was an encouraging indication that our fitness community is ready for conversations of this nature.

FEA Academy Maldives extends its deepest appreciation to Jerrican Tan, every panelist, participant, partner and individual who supported the event and helped make the first Career Talk possible.

This event was a starting point. There are many more trainers, educators, gym operators, professionals and voices across the Maldives whose experiences deserve to be represented and heard.

The response we received gives us hope to take this conversation further, broader and to a larger platform in the coming years, bringing new faces and perspectives into the discussion as the Maldivian fitness industry continues to develop.

Thank you, Maldives, for a full house and an incredible beginning.
