About the Course

Course Overview


Weightlifting Foundations is designed for personal trainers who want to understand the foundations of Olympic lifts — the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. This course breaks down the technical elements of each lift, equipping you with the knowledge for proper set-up, execution, and common error corrections. You’ll learn practical strategies for training these technical lifts through safe progression and skill development. By the end of the course, you’ll understand the basics of the Olympic lifts; allowing for you to effectively integrate them into current programs to develop skill, strength, power, and/or athletic performance.


Course Nature (Level 1)


This workshop is designed for fitness professionals, fitness enthusiasts and independent exercisers who are eager to expand their knowledge and improve their own training practices. They are open to non–fitness professionals and do not require prior formal education in exercise science.


Course Objectives


  • Master foundations for the two Olympic lifts, including proper set-up, execution, and key observation points.

  • Develop the skills to practice Olympic lifts safely and effectively.

  • Learn how to integrate Olympic lifts into a training program to support performance goals.
